Our Developmental Process

As opposed to racing on to the finish line, we observe a relatively strict timeline for our web development projects.  Not every step is applicable to every client, but this is the way prefer it.  The time frame varies based on the project, but generally speaking, it can be "live" anywhere between 3 days and 2 months. 

Initial Contact

Whether we contact you, or you contact us, our relationship begins there.  The information we collect at this time helps us make the forthcoming consultation as effective as possible.  One thing we never, ever want to do is waste our clients, or potential clients time.

We also hope that at this point, our client has gone through our website and registered for their free account.  This enables the client to freely manage any services they have established with us, including domain names, web hosting, as well as website - not to mention, all of our billing is handled this way ultimately.

Assignment of Account Manager

We immediately assign each client to an account manager, which is usually Chris Papa.  If it isn't Chris, it is someone on his team of developers.  Chris is the Lead Developer.

Consultation

It all starts with a conversation.  In order for us to cater to your needs the absolute best way possible, we need to determine your needs.  We start with a no fee, no commitment consultation via phone, email, web chat, or in some cases for local clientelle, a face to face meeting.  The consultation is the point in the process where a gameplan is established for delivery of data, design outlines, and launch date forecasting.

Contract

Just to make sure there is no confusion, to protect the customer and ourselves, and to get all of the information out there, we require customers to sign off on a contract.  The contract includes important information on it.  For starters, it outlines our expectations of eachother, determines a very standard set of ground rules.  If you wish to see the contract, please feel free to ask.  We do not place it online as an example, because quite frankly we put a ton of work into it and do not want to provide free legal advice to our competition. :)

Website Launch

Once we have a functional, ready for viewing website, we call the site "live".  This means it is running, and viewable to the general public.  After this point, most work done to the site counts against maintenance.

Training

Joomla! is a rather complicated, yet simple program to use.  From the newbie viewpoint, your first question when you log in is "What the ... what do I do first?".  We handle all that stuff.  Each site however is slightly different, so we focus our user training on how to manage the content as necessary.

Newer versions if Joomla! makes this process even easier, as it allows for very strict user access levels, so individual users are only able to even access the absolute essential areas, removing most of the stumbling blocks.

Maintenance

Keeping the content current is vital to your sites' effectiveness.  If the site is "static", which is a web geek way of saying stale, users have limited reason to return to the website again.  This is where we can really take the flag and run.  With everything else going on with your business, worrying about formatting text and getting into the site are not things you have time for. 

Our most effective clients simply email us what they need done, it gets done, and we send them back a confirmation email to review what has been done.  It's just that simple.

Renewals

So 12 months later, the contract is up.  Now what?  Quite simply, we contact you.  We give options for a complete web re-design, perhaps just a few updates, or perhaps nothing changes at all.  You can even just continue as a web hosting customer only, and tackle the updates on your own.  In some cases, just paying for the renewal of the domains and the hosting is all that is necessary.
